（眼前一黑，缺氧，無sai力）
但通常都係shower完之後，可能d水太熱啦

但今朝仲恐怖

下一刻我開番眼focus既時候，我坐左係building 1 個地下度。－＿－

0. Colin Firth’s acting is absolutely phenomenal! the real first-time wartime speech could be sychronized with the one in the movie…crazy attention to detail!

所有困難都可以克服，而且必須克服。無論你是平民或者是皇帝，no matter how reluctant you are, 都需要勇敢面對並改善自己的shortcomings。因為這都不是你自己一個人的問題，你可能是某人的榜樣，可能是整個帝國的榜樣，意義極其重大。

When the nation needed a leader and a voice at war, even he was so frightened, he did his part well. King George VI was such a great and brave king as he didnt ask for the king…he was reluctant…and once he took up the job, he did it very well even deep down he was haunted with fear and stress that ultimately lead to his death…he was “easily frightened and prone to tears” since 5 years old …he cried like a kid in the Queen’s arm when he knew that he has to step up after his brother put off his throne for his mistress…


3. it’s just fascinating how the UK is still running the monarchy and royal family system…:3 the story is based on the living Queen Elizabeth’s father King George VI..  the royal family …love it (was tracing the family bloodline on wiki..King George VI ..is the son of King George V…is the son of Queen Victoria…is the daughter of Prince Edward….) though they all appeared on portrait paintings only..imagine they all were once legendary living figures ..honored by millions of people….it’s so so so important to preserve records of history!!! cultural revolution has burned and destroyed lots of precious cultural artifacts of all dynasties…this should not happen again coz we hv to keep a good record NOW for our future generations , say in 2050 or 3011…people will look back at our photos and wonder..how those 古人 live their life with such primitive technology?! (wah..totally off-topic sorry)

4. and after all it’s based on public speaking and public broadcasting haha..guess dad mum would love it too.

 

“For Stocks, Another Day, Another Dive”

  • Another question in the MIT undergraduate survey is “have you ever taken a class that you feel excited to attend?”..I think my Corp fin class is definitely one of my fav classes in my MIT career.
  • You see, people usually applauded for the professor at the very last class of the semester right? This class, we clap everytime.
  • But…..the admin finally decided to kick all undergraduates out (Reason: The MBAs can’t sit on the stairs, coz they have paid. )
  • side-note:  Modigiliani from the M&M theorem (58,63,66) was a Sloan professor !!!
  • just found out 熊貓外交 is a legit term!! this term just crossed my mind when i saw this “熊貓為中日關係解凍“
  • Finally its not the usual title “Asian shares mixed” ..but a saddening yet accurate “another day, another dive” : S
  • was discussing with SS why all indexes worldwide (and our portfolio, cry) fell into the red all of a sudden. SS said its because of the chain suspensions of Korean savings banks, I said probably, as most of the newspapers would have agreed, is due to the escalating tension in the middle east and the subsequent surge in oil price. Is it only  Libya to be blamed for the stock slide though?
  • watched 3 movies related to  financial crisis..”Wall Street”,  “Inside Job” and “The Company Man”…after all these government bailouts (bank of america, bear stearns), bankruptcy (lehman) and massive headcount reduction (citi) happened only just 2 years ago, ibanking is still the most prestigious and popular career among us …probably because it is the most (risk-adjusted) lucrative career?
  • anyhow I am going to take the HK gov CSB exam this summer, anyone else?
  • also chatted about our FS’s budget speech with my dad ..will write sth about it later if i hv time
  • OK…from all the options in the previous entry, guess I will take a PE sailing class in 2nd quarter of the semester , yeah!
  • But as a pre-req, I need to first pass the boat test…which is
    ” jumping in the water, swimming 100 yards continuously and then treading water for 10 minutes.” can I do that?!

The Night is Still Young

  • MIT released a survey on undergraduate life today, one of the questions is :
    “On how many of the past seven days did you get enough sleep so that you felt rested when you woke up in the morning?”
  • The point is…..we just had a 3-day long weekend holiday.  =__= how evil !!
  • I wrote my very first comment on WSJ with my real name (I commented with fake names almost every day on youtube and weibo….)
  • turned out I got 3 recommendations (similar to “likes” in fb) and was accused as “ministry of information from china”, hahaha wth? good start?

  • Was editing my CV for some engineering stuff …1) just realized my engineering experience totally outnumbered my finance/management experience.  2) Nothing on my CV is “-Present” ..i.e. I am doing nothing now??
