Quiet?

“In your head too much”, a phrase that is often deployed against the quiet and cerebral.
Of course, there is another word for such people: thinkers.

看”Quiet“的時候,有以下這個小小questionnaire。
你是一個introvert嗎? 1-20 你有多少個true?

hi

我拿到17/20。其中有幾個我agree到想bold左個true, especially “I often prefer to express myself in writing”. 有幾個卻不太肯定。For example,

– I often let calls go through to voice mail?
My initial answer is “no”.
At work, I enjoy answering phone calls. I won’t let them ring more than twice.
But in life, I never answer my calls…..it’s always a list of red “missed” calls in my phone record.
Two extremes.

– “Soft spoken” and “mellow”?
It really depends who I am talking to..or my mood.

– I don’t enjoy multitasking?
I do and I don’t. Again depends la..haha.

I was accustomed to fighting my inertia in order to conform to social norms. 但上班後我發現,我已經不用再“fight”。As long as its within working hours (i.e. when I am paid haha), I could temporarily erase my multiple traits of introversion, and transform into an extrovert. Running back and forth between the North and South of Temperament every single weekday, but not exhausted by it at all. This is how an introvert survives in a world that celebrates extroversion.

  1. but work mode hardly reflects the true self right…it’s like props but in personality/identity sense…think about hoodie vs. suit. if given a chance i will not wear suits everyday…
