Nobel Prize

(that’s my lecturer’s Nobel Medal. He showed us in the very last lecture last year.)

good news: a high record of 5 women.

bad news: still 85% American-dominant.

bad news: no MITer this year :( the econ nobel winner did his undergrad at MIT!

breaking  news: Obama , a 10-month-old President, was awarded the Peace Prize.
(1) the star power has overshined the real putting-effort-for-a-lifetime activists
(2) what he has done to deserve it? his so-called efforts so far is still merely on big plans and ideas,
and ironically he may still escalate wars and send troops.
(3) The only acceptable reason would be his hugegantic social and symbolic significance in American History ever.
(4) AND because the committee lauds him for not being George W Bush.
The prize could only be reasonable if it meant to be a big slap in Bush’s face! (quoting my mum =D)

All unpredicted: Thomson Scientific (Thomson Reuter’s speculation based on their own algorithms analyzing citation frequency and # prizes) fails to predict anyone except the Chemistry’s one. For physics,  some criticized that they just went for the technology/applied phy–fiber optics (info traffic of the internet!) and CCD (main tech of digital cameras!) instead of theoritical/fundamental physics.  I think its a good thing becoz ‘layman’ like me weren’t able to understand anything before. XD And undoubtedly modern telecommunications is vital for connecting the world in light speed . and hey, he is Hongkonger!

(btw..according to my Eng teacher in MCS, HongKonger > HongKongese coz its more used by native speakers..and the SCMP)

ok..im just trying to write sth different…..writing sth like this is as rare as waking up at 8:30am ! (which is now XD)
