The Imitation Game

Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

*Spoiler Alert*

1. Brilliant performance by Benedict Cumberbatch! Great job in portraying such emotional complexity. At first I thought his mesmerizing eyes must be made possible by some sort of digital visual effect…then I found out “Benedict Cumberbatch eyes” is actually a popular search keyword in Google O_O

eyeseyes

2. Turing committed suicide in 1954 and was finally pardoned by the Queen in 2013(?!). Well..at least we can all finally honor this wrongly-accused genius 60 years later…such a special life story to be shared.

3. Really touched by Imitation Game Graham Moore Oscars acceptance speech: “When I was 16 years old, I tried to kill myself because I felt weird and I felt different and I felt I did not belong. And now I’m standing here I would like this moment to be for that kid out there who feels she’s weird or she’s different or she doesn’t fit in anywhere – yes, you do. I promise you do. Stay weird, stay different and when it’s your turn, and you are standing on this stage, please pass the message on to the next person who comes along.”

2nd MOOC – Gamification

Screen Shot 2015-02-22 at 3.48.04 AM

Currently on Week 4 of my 2nd MOOC class – Gamification
I.e. how to apply game elements & design to non-game business contexts!
e.g. PBL techniques (Points, badges, leaderboards), engagement & progressive loops, etc.

Interesting class but would definitely like to see more up-to-date examples.
Plants vs. Zombies and Angry Birds are no longer THAT viral…

Well yes things change very rapidly and its hard to keep up the pace
similar to HKDSE compu web design module…while the whole world uses parallax scrolling (and who knows wht the trend will be in 2016? 2017?),
HK secondary school students are still learning Frames in class, so 90s O___O

Upcoming courses on my dashboard:
Design Thinking for Business Innovation
Understanding the Brain
Marketing in a Digital World
Buddhist Meditation and the Modern World
