這幾天跟jpm的ex-boss catch up 了一下,讓我分享他的名言!
(1) “Where is the money? Where in the money is” (要賺錢就要去錢在的地方。financial institutions/government )
(2) 上班和上學最大的分別:上學你付錢去辛苦,上班你收錢去辛苦。
Captured Van Gogh’s painting realization on Amtrak today…!
a blog should not be a platform to impress or showcase …
this last haven for thoughts should be freed from mundane expectations or frameworks
anyway…let me just summarize what I have done (if any) in this spring break:
went to foxwoods with $8/round-trip-dinner-buffet-included and lost 80 dollars …>< as dad said there is no more beginner’s luck. When I got my 333 dollars grader paycheck in my mailbox today I literally kissed it.
hea for 3 days……sleep and eat…..not that im on drugs but I have no memory how I passed these 3 days….
going to DC tomorrow to watch sakura blossom….but I am hving a running nose now…zzzz
then i spent the whole afternoon today to brainstorm ideas for my bro’s bday cards…
then i spent an hour or so to photoshop them….
that’s the only ‘productivity’ spike in this break,
but good that he likes it ^_^
so tui……
but the thing is no pset due/exam next week ar ma…….aiyaaa
Random:
got 3Vivian Lee and 3Fiona Chan 14 Tiffany 10 Stephanie
9 Michelle and 8 Kelvin/Kevin/Calvin
in my fb list…hahaha what’s the most common names among your friends? :P
I think for boys it’s Kelvin and for girls its Stephanie so if someone says like ..”陣間 吖kelvin同stephanie都會黎食飯“
then really dont know who they are referring to…-the end-
“I don’t know if we each have a destiny, or if we’re all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it’s both. Maybe both is happening at the same time.” – Forrest Gump
Back in high school, when i saw those “人生策略顧問” title on a crappy business card,
or self-help books like “how to make a billion by 20 years old”, “how to say NO”, “how to lead a successful life”,” how to make friends effectively”. etc., I used to think they were all useless BS coz:
(1) Sir, what kind of authority or superb expertise do you have to plan my future?
(2) if they are so good with their life making billions by 20, why do they have to publish books to make a living at all?
(3) there is no single definite universal rule for such problems
(4) most survival skills could only be gained by real-life first-hand experience..and it really varies by situations and your personality
recently after subscribing to Weibo (the chinese twitter),
I realized that words of wisdom r not limited to ‘credible’ sources like 李開復 or professionals
many BS-like short tweets in Weibo r quite inspiring…some selections:
Three things in life when gone never come back: time, opportunity, and words. 人生有三样东西不可挽回:时间,机遇,以及说出去的话。
In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure!——为了赢得成功,你对成功的欲望必须超过你对失败的恐惧。 (<–that’s exactly why the nuclear plant heroes could say proudly that they are not afraid of death…its just that their courage has overcome their fear!)
