You Know You are an MT when…

1. You never know how to fill in the ‘Occupation’ field on a form: Trainee? What does it even mean?

2. You have a collection of namecards: Your own namecards from all rotations with different titles on them.

3. Expertise: ordering farewell cakes (散水餅) and writing “Thanks & Goodbye” last day emails: Arome? Maxim? Homemade? How many pieces? Who’s on leave? Ahhhh.

4. You have emcee-ed for at least one company event.

5. You got asked “Where were your previous rotations?” for at least a thousand times.

6. While most people can introduce their job in 1-2 words (e.g. I am a lawyer, I am a teacher), your answer always comes with a whole paragraph of remarks on what MT is about.

7. From time to time you will receive a random message from an old friend, because her cousin is applying to the program and would want some advice.

8. You can never plan your year ahead because you are always ready to relocate / change departments.

9. You know MT sometimes also stands for “Minutes-Taker.”
