在Gates Scholarship的group interview，Bill Gates太太Melinda問入圍者：
「如果你發現自己孤身一人在沙漠的中心。已經耗盡水和糧食，你會如何應對？」
其中一位年輕人站起來，說了句：
「這根本沒可能發生。好了，別再浪費我的時間。」
然後他頭也不回，就離開了面試室。

How to end a conversation gracefully in a networking event?

• May I have your card? It was great meeting you.
• I am headed over to eat/drink.
• I’ve enjoyed our conversation! Thank you!
• Have you met x?
• I promised myself I’d circulate—I better walk around.
• [Glance at watch] Oops, I really have to go.
• I need to make a call
• Want to grab something from the buffet/bar?

Other tips

• A friendly inquiry on unique name/ job titles/ items (eyeglasses, accessories)
• Ask someone nearby if they want a drink/snack, or offer a plate when in line for food
• Maintain a calm exterior
• Be authentic
• Freshen your breath!!
