考試前與Uganda的同學聊聊，看看當地人對Kony 2012的評價
- Northern Uganda 的燃眉之急是famine, hygiene & water problems。
- IRA已經過了最活躍的高峰，勢力早已大大減弱，並不像video中所portray一樣強大，他們在hiding而已。
- NGO慣常把小孩受害的heartbreaking images放出來來solicit $。對於這種marketing手法，當地人一般都表示反感。
我的看法
- the message already went viral globally，已經達到他們想要的效果了。沒有需要再浪費金錢和資源去製作/買那些wristbands，posters 跟所謂的“action kit”advertising merchandise。propaganda已經more than enough，下一步是捐錢給實實在在on the ground貢獻的團體。

a. that may sound bad because $3 of your $10 goes to the Uganda work. but if the $7 is actually efficiently used – I am willing to give.

a. it’s not about “Americans did it again! We kill the bad guy! Now we leave the land”. Look at Libya, who the eff cares about them after Gaddafi died? So US will help Uganda to catch Kony by the end of 2012, what if Kony II comes up the next morning? what if he doesn’t? US is gonna leave Uganda having the world think “WE killed the bad guy again!”?
b. “Getting US soldiers into Uganda to train them” – google what US soldiers did to prisoners in Middle East…
c. if I really contribute to this campaign and they really capture him and LRA is dismissed but Uganda’s most basic problems remain – do I feel good?
3. Intention is good. But I am not sure why they somehow think 2012 is the year that Kony will get caught as if the governments have not tried to capture him in the past years.
4. Someone who interned in Uganda found the video “disturbing, overlooking and perhaps a bit arrogant” I cant explain but somehow felt it too haha
