2021 年第一本書 – Lean In

Lean In呢本書其實2013年已經推出,不過我竟然2021年先睇! XDD
(天音:你唔係D&I advocate嚟架咩?)
由於呢本書係商務特賣場用超級特價30蚊買嘅,所以都可以highlight得比較放肆哈哈。
係我well craft個book review for 小red書之前,等我寫個第一感受書評先。173頁好快睇完。
- 首先我唔覺得所有女人/男人都需要lean in,呢個係個人選擇。不過我明白sheryl sandberg所講嘅必須達到critical mass in women leadership to run the world先可以帶嚟改變。Let’s break the glass ceiling and keep your hands up~!
- 本書嘅下半部份都係講working mum (career-loving parents as she put it),所以與我關係不大。但其實無論係丁克 (dink – double income no kids)夫婦或者係選擇單身嘅女性,都一樣有every right to a full life嘅權利架。
- Being a feminist does not mean starting a gender war. 有d人聽到women empowerment會好反感,女人,咁男人呢?其實係about gender equality. 男人可以做家庭主”夫”,女人都可以做C-Suite.
- 其實反而我幾鍾意佢講mentorship個一個chapter。原來can you be my mentor係一個超awkward嘅問題,而且mentorship應該係reciprocal with common interests架。It should be a connection earned by both sides.
- success and likability seems inversely correlated for women.
- lack of confidence can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
- Careers are a jungle gym for creative exploration, not a vertical ladder.
- “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” “Sit at the table.”
我都好fortunate 因為我公司嘅management positions好多都係女性。而我都有一個好supportive嘅partner(b)去全力support我嘅career growth。 反而係長輩嘅傳統思想要再努力d去改變一下。
一週AL快完了




反思
原來責罵只會帶來驚恐、傷害和創傷。小朋友在被責罵的過程中只是「受驚」,而當中完全沒有學習learning的意味。
最後小朋友就會變得很怕事、唔會做多d,怕take risk,一切只會選擇最安全的option,一切以「唔好比人鬧」為做人原則,明明壞事做盡、卻只會把壞事隱藏。呢個就係今日嘅我。
Education by “fear” of management 最省時,但也是最低效的。
