every moment is a life changing moment

a few months ago I was invited to a cocktail mingling session followed by a formal dinner
4 recruiters and 4 candidates sat alternatively (?梅花間竹) at a round table , with the utensil setting as above…back then it was quite challenging to keep eating and impressing the recruiters at the same time.
somehow I was flipping the MIT career development workbook today
and one section is about “Dining Tips” for meal setting interview
some are quite common sense …but table manner is useful for life! (especially witnessing how everyone on the cruise FORKED their bread…@@)

  • start with the flatware the furthest away the plate first
  • gently dab your napkin at your lips
  • when you are finished, place your knife and fork so they lie horizontally (I usually placed it vertically though?) across your plate. Place your napkin next to your plate, do not leave it on the chair when you get up to exit the restaurant.
  • If you are not sure what to order, follow your host’s lead.
  • A chicken breast or vegetable plate is always safe
  • When sharing a sauce with others, spoon some of it to your plate, don’t dip your food into it.
  • Keep your elbows off your table
  • Drink from the glass to your right (nice tip for lefties)
  • Eat at the same pace as your host
  • Be prepared to be conversational , relax and keep the conversation focused on business-related topics
  • Say please and thank you to the waiter

久違了的LLL ..路燈在看著我們。whatnot.
