賭城記趣 – impromptuz

”yup. I just turned 21. “ 去o左Atlantic City 三大賭場，Trump Taj Mahal, Caesars 和 Bally’s 。無論係賭檯，係餐廳，或者周圍走的時候，都比人check ID ，然後下一句聽到的都是“wow you look so young, happy birthday!!” hoho，由MIT 常常覺得自己很老，突然來到這裡變o左全城最細。其實我還是很年輕：p
那也難怪，我穿著t-shirt 拖鞋，背著書包（天音：誰會帶“輸包”進賭場－＿－），的確很young。
戰績：輸了3個小時的改卷時薪。所以總括來說，還是喜歡澳門多一點。澳門旺我之外，d 酒店都新d豪華d乾淨d。
而且我都不再奢望2008年般在Sands贏$26,340 。這種運氣一生人都未必有一次。
最厲害的是，我把linguistics的千字長文寫完了。由freshman fall以後都再沒有take 過communication－intensive的課了，所以特別戰戰競競。第一次用盡mit的writing center資源，包括：online consultant， writing advisor，和appointment。哈哈
我寫的那篇東西也挺有趣，跟我在lpc時寫的theory of knowledge畢業論文有一點點關連，都是說saprif-whorf hypothesis。巴西有一個tribe叫Pirah,，他們的語言沒有number／完善的counting system，就只有“one－two-many”。於是有研究說他們的language就limit了他們的numerical cognition－特別是大於3的tasks，他們只會estimate，而要enumerate the exact quantity時就顯然有困難。
